The Bachmann sawmill is located in the Village of Reinhardshagen in the valley of the River Weser. The city of Kassel is about 20 miles to the South and the city of Gottingen is about 25 miles to the East.
The Forests either side of the valley help to supply the sawmill with beech logs. The valley is a pleasant area to visit with many opportunities for hiking, cycling, picnicking and equestrian activities. Accommodation facilities are plentiful, and cater for all price levels, hotels, pensions and and camp sites. The restaurants in the area serve very good food.
It is in this region that the fairy tales and stories written by the Brothers Grimm are set.
